Sentinel Event Alerts Recommends Actions to Reduce Risks to Patient Safety

Working in collaboration with the Joint Commission’s Sentinel Event Alert Group since 2006, Ray Valek drafts alerts for the group’s review and approval after reviewing data and research papers and conducting interviews with medical experts. Three recent alerts are “Preserving patient safety after a cyberattack,” “Eliminating disparities for pregnant patients,” and “Diagnostic overshadowing among groups experiencing health disparities.”
